Core Fabrication is an affiliate of Core Industries specializing in tubular and structural fabrication for the oil and gas industry. Core has provided shore-based services to engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) companies such as Technip, Heerema and Subsea 7 for the past 30 years. Vessels routinely dock at our private port facility in close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico to receive support for logistics and material handling in addition to vessel berthing. By offering fabrication services in addition to our other shore-based services, we provide clients with reduced transportation and logistics needs, creating cost-saving opportunities.
Core is currently qualifying several structural and tubular welding procedures in accordance with AWS D1.1 and API 1104 and any client specific requirements (such as hardness or CTOD tests) over and beyond standard industry codes and standards. We have finalized a frame agreement with a major operator in the Gulf of Mexico to offload, store, maintain, preserve, inventory and refurbish risers (drilling, production and drilling and completion risers).
